OPEN LETTER TO THE PERSON WHO KNOWS:
There are certain times in life when we all make mistakes. When situations go from bad to worse, and life spirals out of control before we even have time to blink. Naturally, we feel scared. Our instinct is to run, to hide, and hope that it all blows over. But it never does. Even if external pressures fade, the inner-pain and anguish that haunts our minds only intensifies with time. It’s true: We can never escape our past. Our mistakes are etched into the deepest depths of our sub-conscious, and they furiously remind us they exist every day that we try to hide them…
What happened has happened, and what is done is done.
Nothing can fix the past, but it is not too late to change your future. You can take a step today to turn your life around, admit to your mistakes, and ease not only the minds of others, but of yourself. The relief of having the mistake no longer resting heavy on your shoulders will rid you of the pain and anguish that I know is eating at your soul as you read this. I mean this in every sense of the phrase: It’s over. Let the truth out and free your mind. Now is no longer the time to run. Now is no longer the time to hide. Now is the time to do the right thing. To help yourself, to help the community, and help ease the minds of Lauren’s family.
Now is the time to create a better future for everyone.
So I ask of you: Why not end the suffering of yourself and others? Why not account for your mistakes while you still have time to rectify them? Why not right now, at this very moment, free yourself and your community from the pain and worry that is eating away at everyone?
